Hey everyone! Today, I want to talk about the amazing Rock Solid Christian Academy retreat in Larkspur, Colorado. We left for Larkspur immediately after school. When we arrived at the retreat center, we all joined in for an outdoor scavenger hunt. Shortly after the scavenger hunt, we walked to the dining hall and ate lunch. Once we ate lunch, we began unpacking our things and familiarized ourselves with the camp. Then, we had a short devotion. After the devotion, we went on an extraordinary night hike where we experienced steep inclines and declines. Then, we played black- light dodgeball until bedtime.
The next morning, we did a high ropes course followed by a leisurely breakfast. After everyone finished breakfast, we had the option to go on a day hike or play games. I chose the day hike. On the day hike, there was a lot of plant life and beautiful rolling hills. That day, we also had a devotion which was very uplifting. Very soon after the devotion, we did our community service work. Our work entailed moving rocks from one location to another as directed by the camp staff. After the community service work was finished, we drove back to the school to be picked up by our parents. This was such an amazing experience and I hope we do it again.
Support our Athletes, Bring Fellowship of Christian Athletes to Rock Solid Christian Academy!
How tragic is it that Rock Solid Christian Academy (RSCA) has been here for over twenty years and, yet we do not have a Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) group? If only we had a FCA group, oh how it would help Christian Athletes grow closer to God our amazing Father in Christ. Sadly, RSCA has not provided the help our talented Christian athletes desperately need in the world of sports. Today is the day I challenge you to change that, once and for all, let us start an FCA group! I believe having an FCA at RSCA will improve RSCA in three ways.
First, a FCA group will help benefit RSCA by benefiting our Christian athletes. It will help Christian athletes have a safe place to go when their team is swearing too much. We can bounce ideas off one another. When people are feeling low we can help lift them up. Athletes could have a safe place to go if they do not want to go to their coach/parents. After all, how awesome would it be for all Christian athletes to have a safe to share their hardships? I believe with all my heart that it would benefit me and everyone else in the group.
Second, I believe that a FCA group will improve RSCA’s community. The FCA group will bring people together. An athlete community would lift fellow students up when they are felling sad. The community could create ideas on what we should do about the gossip, swearing, etc. at RSCA as well as on our teams. People can grow closer to God in the school community. Meetings would be set up in the school once every two weeks. After all who doesn’t want a community that they know is there for them when they need it? So, for those reasons I think an FCA community would help benefit RSCA.
My final reason, is that a FCA group will improve people’s relationships with God. I mean FCA has “Christian” in the title so that means that the group would be Christ centered. We could help each other come up with ideas on how to keep God in our games, practices etc. God is our creator, so we should worship Him and grow closer to Him. I believe a FCA group would help us grow closer to God.
As I come to an end on way we should have a FCA group, I challenge you to get involved in help RSCA get an FCA group started. Just like school we learn academics, but for athletes we also need to lean how to react on the field. I believe with all my heart that athletes need a place to go when they are feeling low and need a booster. Also, a FCA would help the entire school community. Most importantly a FCA group will help athletes grow closer to God/Christ. If you agree come talk to Jonah Elstad, Anya Turner, Mrs. Elstad, or Mrs. Elliott.

University Model Structure
Jonah and Anya
University Model Structure is three days at school and two days at home. This schedule is good for athletes. This way it allows students to sleep in and have more personal free time. It is a great way for parents to stay involved in schooling. It also allows students to get more social activity.
Rock Solid Christian Academy teachers are very qualified. They are strong and devoted Christians. They always help students if they are struggling with their homework.
Parents get to have more time with their child/children. Parents are more comfortable knowing that their child is in a safe environment.
In conclusion, we really encourage you to come to Rock Solid Christian Academy. We hope you take all of this into consideration.
